About
OBD Scanner reads live data from a car through a Bluetooth LE ELM327 adapter, straight from the browser. It only reads: the adapter can be sent AT commands and requests to the read-only OBD services 01, 02, 03, 07, 09, 21 and 22. Clearing fault codes, writing data, security access and session changes are blocked in the transport layer, including from the raw console.
OBDb
Which data to request, and how to decode the replies, comes from OBDb, the open vehicle signal database maintained by its community atobdb.community. Thank you to everyone who has contributed signal definitions and captures.

Other vehicles
For a vehicle without a bundled profile, the app shows the standard OBD-II signals, and you can choose the vehicle from the OBDb index. Its signalset is then downloaded from GitHub, pinned to the commit its repository's latest version points at, and kept on your device so it works offline. The session details show which commit was used.
Demo data
The demo mode (?mock=1) replays real responses captured by OBDb contributors, from each repository's tests/test_cases, and animates a few signals with a simulated drive. Captures are re-framed but not otherwise changed.
